Our Story
The Beginning...
In December of 2008, I ordered a Scrabble tile pendant online only to find it quickly fell apart. The idea came to me that I could make the same pendant by using the best products that I could possibly find. For fun, I followed this first pendant up with six others and began wearing them to work. Much to my surprise, within three days, I had made several sales. Within one month, my pendants were being sold in stores followed by several arts and craft festivals. With the success of the Scrabble tile pendants, I ventured into making additional "green" products: typewriter key jewelry made out of scrap wood, reclaimed wine and liquor bottles into lamps, and repurposed vinyl record bowls. After falling in love with the simplicity of making something with my hands, I realized I had developed a new passion as well as a new business, which I named Blackberry Hill Designs.
New Beginning...
In October 2010, my life changed dramatically when I met my husband, Gary McAuslin. Gary quickly embraced my work, and assisted me with sales at arts and craft festivals whenever possible. In April 2011, I showed Gary some design concepts I admired, asking whether he felt he could create them himself. He showed up on my doorstep the next day with a silhouette of a rabbit he had hand cut out of a vinyl record. It was then that I had established a new product line and a business partner. We love working together, and feel we have the perfect mix to make Second Spin Vinyl Record Designs a brand that will continue to be successful for many years to come.

At Second Spin Vinyl Record Designs, we offer repurposed and upcycled products at affordable prices, while maintaining sustainable and socially-responsible business practices. Through education of our product lines and the promotion of an emerging industry designed to offer earth-friendly and sustainable practices, our mission is to provide the consumer with the resources that enable them to recognize conscious alternatives in all areas of their life.
Our Products...
Our products, Recycled Vinyl Record Wall Art and Clocks, Jewelry, Bowls and Album Cover Notebooks are very unique, whimsical, and make great conversation pieces. Each one of our products are designed and produced with the environment in mind. We use materials about to be discarded when we create, thereby preventing them from ending up in landfills by making them functional again in an unusual and creative way. We think there is something for everyone and hope you can find something you love!
